Since the last time I published anything on the blog, life has taken a few unexpected turns. Each one, even the bad, has inched me closer to the path I’m meant to be on. It started with giving up alcohol and it blossomed into an adventure I never could’ve foreseen.
These days, I’m focused less on trying to be what I was expected to be and focused more on being who I AM, regardless of everyone else’s opinion. It’s an experience that has yielded many sleepless nights, beautiful pain, sweet serenity, and a completeness I never thought possible.
Back in October, I made the decision to take a hiatus from writing. I didn’t feel connected to what I was publishing anymore because the person I was at that time was slowly dying out and morphing into who I am now. It’s a spiritual metamorphosis I’m beyond thankful for, even if it meant taking some time away from my great love of writing.
So, what’s next? Where do we go from here as author and reader? Allow me to tell you just that.
I’m happy to announce the normal posting schedule will resume as of today (January 5, 2020). Playlists will live on, but they will no longer be shared monthly. Instead, playlists will be posted whenever I’m moved to share one. When I share music I love, I want it to be because I’m excited about the songs, not out of obligation. I see it as one more way to be vulnerable with my readers and I’m hopeful you guys will be on board with it!
Our lovely “Quote of the Month” section will be moved to the sidebar and in it’s place on the homepage will be “What I’m Reading.” This new section will be accompanied by short book reviews on my Instagram. I’m so excited to share these books with you and can’t wait to check out some of your recommendations!
Along will the changes to the blog, I’m striving to be more active on social media. I admit, there is a bit of a learning curve to all the self-promotion. For someone like me, it can feel a bit awkward and embarrassing to say, “HEY! LOOK AT ME, I DID A THING!” So, bear with me on that.
I’m so ready to get back to writing and interacting with all of you! Thank you for time, patience, and for being some of the most supportive people I’ve ever known.
Happy new year, lovely people.
